We’re on the footplate as the classic A4 Sir Nigel Gresley faces a demanding test run to gain approval for running over Network Rail. We then travel with the loco on its nostalgic return to King’s Cross and an emotional reunion with three other survivors of the class at York.

It was with great anticipation that I received an advance copy of this latest steam offering from BNT productions (destined for Yorkshire ITV).
Having enjoyed their "From the Footplate" series I guessed that this would be well made. What an understatement! The story content is entertaining and informative, the photography is superb in every way from composition to lighting to magnificent aerial sequences. Although employing up to date production techniques, the programme has been sympathetically edited - avoiding the endless gimmicks so typical of TV today.

At Video 125 we get offered many productions both professional and amateur and I have to say I usually have to whiz through them to save time. However in this case I was totally hooked from the first shot to the last. I watched the whole thing from end to end and since then I have even watched it again!

Even the bonus sections are good.
